Sunday Poems

I think I'll only post poems once a week. I think I'm really bad at this but hopefully I'll get better if I keep writing a lot.

--

A tree,
slowly crossing six lanes
limbs aloft prepared to catch
tired drivers slowly nodding off
sober enough late night stragglers
highstrung sad minded folks
who can't deal with a tree
as It walks across the highway

--

I shook hands with a seaweed
it wanted to say hello
I grabbed its wrist
and it grabbed mine
and it would not let go
so I went on a shaking
with that new found friend of mine
though my eyes were stinging
from the waters salty brine
but I still gripped that seaweed
even as it drug me low
to feel the grip of something
while the ocean overflows
